Saint-Paul-la-Coste is a village of France, located in the department of Gard, in the Occitanie region (formerly Languedoc-Roussillon).

Leaning against the foothills of the Cévennes mountains, the village is located in the peripheral zone of the National Park and stands out for its rivers (the Galeizon and its tributary the Salandre, classified « wild rivers »), by its picturesque farmhouses and hamlets in the shade of holm oaks and chestnut trees, by its 12th century Romanesque church which has been the subject of a restoration awarded with the « Ribbons of the patimoine 2020 », by its temple of 16th century, by its chapel at Mandajors and its Moulinas bridge, witnesses of the tragic episodes of the religious wars at the end of the reign of Louis XIV, as well as through its hiking trails and various festive events such as its chestnut fair.

The 300 inhabitants of the commune (Saint-Paulain(e)s) live on an area of ​​19 km², with a density of 14 inhabitants per km² and an average altitude of 420 m.

The current mayor of Saint-Paul-la-Coste is Mr. Adrien Chapon. elected in March 2020.
The neighboring municipalities are Mialet, Soustelle, Saint-Sébastien-d'Aigrefeuille, Cendras, Saint-Jean-du-Pin and Saint-Martin-de-Boubaux (Lozère).

Classified as a « Biosphere Reserve » by UNESCO, the town is one of the 72 municipalities of the Alès Agglomeration Community and is part of the « Syndicat des Hautes Vallées Cévenoles » (SHVC).
